Meet Ava!
I have only one word ...Precious! This little girl is just 100% sweet!
Her two older brothers have already begun toughening her up, but even with all their poking and proding, it's very apparent that they love her very much.
I am totally digging her little head band - and if I thought it would fit me I would have tried to steal it!
Congratulations on the new addition, I am so happy that I got to be a part of it.

Today was awesome, perfect weather, great couple and new inspiration. I have been having to reschedule sessions left and right because of the dumb rain and I have been itching to get out and photograph someone. We lucked out today and well just see what we got...

These two were super sweet and couldn't keep their hands off each other! I had so much fun during the shoot, they were relaxed and you could just feel the energy between them. I can't wait for the wedding it is going to be a blast!

Can I just tell you how much I love my husband! He knows me all to well and spoiled me rotten on my b-day! He totally surprised me with a Shoot Sac.
Two months ago I came across this camera bag that fits tightly to the body and is super easy access to your equipment and well way cute! I had just gotten a totally rad lowe pro bag and I absolutly love it, but it is big and by the end of a wedding my arm is about to fall off!
The reason that this was such a surprise is that I had shown him the website and raved about it then forgot about it because it was one of those items that I could live without if I had to.
Then my Birthday rolls around and Corey tells me not to open any boxes that come, and I was perplexed, what did he get me?!
The packaging alone is reason to buy one of these bags, the box is lime green with damask print all over, yummy! I am all about packaging it made it so much more exciting to open the box!

Big brother has been photographed several times since we first met him two years ago, and I am excited that I still get to be a part of their growing family with little sister.

It has been so nice having the studio this winter, last winter I was working outside with little ones or having to reschedule because of rain and it was not always ideal. It had been nice to have a back up for rainy days or just a place that mom can come in and relax while we do their session.
Yesterday I had a brother sister team in the studio, 2 years old and a 7 day old. Now keep in mind this combo could go really smoothly with lots of smiles and happy faces or it can be a crazy mix of crying, temper tantrums, giggles, screams, and if I am lucky a few smiles. These two were a dream, McKenna was just as bright and expressive as the last time I got to photograph her. I am looking forward to baby brother's future sessions and getting to watch them together.

Magnolia tree

When we moved into our house in late 2006 our front yard was a forest! We've since undertaken a very serious deforestation effort and after clearing out 9 trees and countless bushes, and making many many trips to the lawn debris recycling plant, we can finally see out of our windows!
The one tree that we decided to save was our magnolia tree. I look forward to April every year now because of how beautiful it is when it blooms. Just this morning I noticed that the buds are starting to get nice and plump just waiting to burst open and give us a brief but much enjoyed flurry of color. Last year I photographed the tree while in bloom and thought I would post a couple of shots to remind myself that for at least a week in April people will focus on the tree and not the disgusting yard that's begging for us to finish our project.

I was totally stoked to get this album in today, every time I open up orders I feel like it's Christmas. Since I also just got this fabulous orange pillow for the studio I thought I would photograph the two together! This album is also difficult to describe so I thought I would post some images.
Don't you just love the orange? I have been lusting over this pillow for months, and finally decided it needed a home on the yummy brown couch in the studio!
For those of you who don't know I have a pillow fetish, not joking I think we have 9 pillows on our bed, 6 in the living room, and now we have 8 in the studio! Oh my gosh I just realized how out of control I am when it comes to pillows!
Well have a great Thursday and if there are any of you out there that have the same pillow addiction...high five!

Calm before the storm

To all my beloved readers/clients/friends:

I just wanted to give everyone a quick heads up about my upcoming schedule. As of this moment, I have booked all but 2 Saturdays for this upcoming summer. With the number of weddings on the books and HS seniors we're expecting, I'll be running around like a headless chicken starting sometime in late May!

Why am I telling you this? Well for one, if you're planning on a summer photo session you need to get scheduled soon! And two, I still have lots of openings this Spring! We've finished building the new studio (for indoor sessions), and I've got a great list of gorgeous Spring locations (even a few covered ones if the weather isn't cooperating).

I'll be updating the calendar on the website this week with our upcoming Spring specials, so keep your eyes peeled and get scheduled soon!

Well the first time we tried to get up to Seattle I5 was flooded and I was worried we would never get this done before their wedding and sure enough we were blessed with one of the nicest January days Seattle has ever seen and probably won't in a very long time!

The last few days I have been house bound and while many would go nuts, I actually LOVE it! I have gotten to hang out with my very best friend and love of my life Corey. We have played games, watched movies and snuggled by the fire.

Last Friday I was up in Issaquah Washington for Chad and Danni's wedding, I was stoked to get to photograph at a new venue! These two are friends of Corey's from OSU...GO BEAVS! There were a lot of his buds from the ultimate frisbee team there, and it was great to see all of them in one place! D&C were super sweet and relaxed the whole day, which made my job easy!

This is probably one of my new favs, I just love the combo of the barn and shrubs with the corrugated metal and of course the smoking hot B&G!

I had such a blast with Millie on Monday! She is the sweetest girl ever and has such a big heart. She could throw it down and was able to pull of the carefree look as well as being feirce in her HOT red dress! I had so much fun and was reminded how much I love my job. I am sure I say that a lot, but truely meeting and working with people like Millie make me realize how blessed I really am!

I need to get some converse! Millie totally rocked the converse and left me wanting to add them to my shoe wardrobe!

Country wedding

Last Saturday Corey and I headed to Washington for a wedding, and let me tell you we were in a part of Washington I didn't know exsisted! We got turned around a couple times, but as you can see we made it!
Stephanie and Alex were great, it was hot and there was very little relief from the sun, but they did it, and they looked amazing!
I am loving the turquoise boots...HOT!

When I asked Stephanie to sit down in these flowers/grass, she gave me the I am wearing a white dress look, but gave into me and did it anyway...and look at how it payed off, and the dress was fine!

Just a little celebration after the ceremony!

I think their guests had fun at the reception, what do you think?

This is Chelse one of the Alyssa Jul Ambassadors for Westview...super cute and up for anything! We met downtown at a park that is one of my favorite places to photograph at right now. Here is a little window into the session, although it was difficult to choose there were way too many favorites from this session!
So I asked Chelse to twirl for me, and I am pretty sure she was thinking, "what is this crazy photographer asking me to do?" I absolutly love this image, no big deal if it's not your fav, Chelse, I am just glad you humored me and did it!

Poor Chelse, I made her scale this wall that was maybe 4 or 5 ft high, in a dress in downtown PDX while people walked by looking at us like we were crazy, as you can see I won! She did it, and it was totally worth it!

I am pretty sure if someone asked me to do the things I ask my clients to do I would think they were nuts! I just love having people move and bend and climb and jump and so on, and it usually always pays off, plus I am used to getting the "your crazy look and somehow always get my way!" I wish I could do that with my husband!

I had two weddings this last weekend, Lori and Alex got married on Sunday at Hoyt Arboritum. I found out at the wedding that the bride's brother married a high school friend's sister...does that make sense? Anyway, it is just weird to realize how small the world really is!

I love the back of Lori's dress, it is a shame we only get to wear our wedding gowns one day!

Saturday Jen Griggs and I were at Edgefield photographing a wedding...do I need to remind you all that Saturday was 97 degrees? It really was fun despite the heat! Nicole and Casey were a dream to work with, they have such a passion for each other and they were so easy to work with. Casey you have found yourself a keeper, incase you need to be reminded, Nicole is HOT and looked totally Fab in her dress! Congratulations guys and thank you for letting me be a part of your big day!

We found the walk in cooler that they use to refidgerate their kegs and just couldn't resist stepping inside to cool off!

Here is the other little girl I get to photograph every couple of months! I love getting to see how the little kiddos react and respond during their sessions. Some hate the sand or some can really throw down a pose or I get a grumpy face that just makes me laugh! I can image as a mom how fun it would be to watch your chillin' grow up and see the funny faces daily that I just get a glimpse of. I truely love my job and my little bambinos! I am so glad I get to see little ones like Anya on a regular basis!

I am absolutly in love with this little beanie, tell me that is not the cutest little girl ever!

I love cranky faces just as much as the sweet smiles, it totally makes me laugh because 1 second later she was all smiles! Isn't that just like us girls?

Does this little one look familiar? She is my blog header! She is also one of only about 3 baby girls that I get to photograph regularlly. I have tons of little boys that I get to see growing up, so it is always extra special to get to see Ainsley and her super cute girly dresses and all the pink!

She made us work for her smiles on this session though, mom was dancing around singing, and it was a busy day at the rose garden, so we had a bit of an audiance!

After having to reschedule due to crappy rain, we were blessed with an absolutly phenom day! I had amzing lighting to work with, the sweetest little boy ever, and a great mom and dad!
I am so glad we were able to wait out the rain for this!
Ally had the greatest expressions, he would throw one down and I could almost hear him say, "you like it, how about this, oh and this..." total model! Every series had a run of several different expressions that I just couldn't decide on, so mom and dad were bombarded with images!

For some reason lately I am loving the sun flare, maybe because I haven't seen the sun in like forever! Don't ya just love it?

This is one of my favs! I just think it is super cute! You would never guess she is 7 months pregnant from behind...HOT Mamma!

I brought a little person chair to this session, and the very second I put it down K. was all over it! He would move it to a new place then climb up into it, then decide it was better somewhere else. He is one busy boy, it will be fun to see how he handles his sister when she comes along!

I was really worried that we would have a rainy windy day for this wedding, because of the horrible weather we have been having...but God was totally on our side and we got a perfect overcast day, which is my favorite weather condition to photograph in!
Kelcie's something barrowed, was a set of diamond earings...check out the bling, these were mega huge!

This was on the way to see the groom...too bad they arn't together in this shot!

So half way through the wedding ceremony the wedding coordinator sneaks up behind me to tell me I am in the center view of the video the church tapes of the ceremony..."great"! At least they have great photos of the ceremony without me in it!

I got a new computer! Yea! To be honest I didn't realized how badly I needed one until I started working on my new one...did you know that they go faster? Don't ask me how, Corey explained something about processors and blah blah blah...I just want it to work and be cute! Well it works, as for the cute part...PC you really need to take a note from Mac! I am very loyal to my PC, I have heard all about the pros and cons, but I am a creature of habit (is that even how the saying goes?)... and didn't think I would be up for the change, but seriously why can't we get a little color in there? Anyhoo...I love it, all the things that make it go fast and the big huge screen, which I noticed made my blog background cut off. Looks like I will need to work on that!

I guess when your entire work week has to be rescheduled due to rain I had a little extra time to pick up before I took the pic's!

Meet Preston! Preston was in a hurry to meet his mom and dad, so he decided to come 2 months early! As you can see he is thriving! I got to photograph him on what was suppose to be his due date and he looked as heathy as can be! He was an angel to work with, completely content no matter what we did!

Corey on the roof! I will be glad when he is done up there and I don't have to worry about him falling off!

Waylon has been a bit out of sorts with this whole building project. I think he is upset that I took away his view of the backyard with my studio. Don't worry buddy, we'll have a fence soon and you will have the run of the place!

here is the insulation finished, just before it started to rain...whew!

Corey hard at work! We had to race against time to get the floor insulation in so that the builders could put the subfloor in the next day! I had to poke these wire things in that are called tiger teeth, which is what holds up the insultation. Go me!

here are a few more pic's to show our progress. From here it will go much slower, because we will be doing most of the work. Corey has been working on the roof and it is slow going, but we should be done by the end of the week. Then we will start on the siding and painting along with the gutters. I must say I am a little anxious to get the inside done so I can start to paint and buy furniture and actually use the space! Well I guess all good things come with time! Sorry I know this is the longest post of all times!

I was in Wyoming last week shooting some of my clients children, and visiting my mom! It was so good to be back and see where I grew up! Unlike Oregon, not much if anything has changed!

While I was gone, Corey was home and super busy! Here is a look at the progress of the studio! I can't believe it is finally happening, we have talked about it so much and now it's here!

Framing will go up today, so it will start looking more and more like an actual room.

Well I am way behind on the blog, last week went by so fast! Here is a taste of one of the sweetest little boys! We went to one of my favorites spots and had a blast. Check out the baby blues on him...soo cute!

In other breaking news, we hired our contractor and will be breaking ground Wednesday! I can't wait to have the studio here and ready for all of you guys!

I fly out tomorrow morning to do some family sessions in Wyoming, yea! I will get to see my mom, which will be tons o' fun! I also get to hang with my cousins for a birthday party in honor of Avery turning 1 and Kiley who will be 5...plenty of pic's to come!

Last weekend I photographed a wedding in downtown Portland. It was such a contrast to the wedding I photographed the weekend before. What is up with our crazy weather? I am ready for summer!

I got to photograph my best friend Elizabeth last Friday for her Graduation announcements. She is graduating from Linfeild as a nurse. She will be working with new moms and newborns. I am so excited for her. Isn't she HOT, she totally rocked it! I love you girl!

for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting my huge, lazy dog Waylon. here he is in all his glory! some of his favorite activities include: watching basketball (he really does follow the ball back and forth across the TV), and sitting on the couch (he is only suppose to be up on the couch if we are with him, but as you can see i caught him on it today). he is not a fan of exercise, in fact if he is at the dog park too long it's impossible to get him in the car, and if he lays down your toast! his favorite food is broccoli, which is really good for me because i HATE it! he spends most of his time sleeping on his huge bed, and well... that's about it! don't get me wrong, i could not ask for a better dog!

Happy Birthday Maddie! Thank you Mandy and Jeff for letting me be a part of Maddie's first year, I can't wait to see her with her new brother!

I am so very excited! We just signed for the construction loan and can start building the new studio! Hooray!!! It has been talked about for so long I am sure all of you were thinking it would never happen! Well keep an eye out - we'll be starting construction by the end of May, and hopefully by mid-summer the new studio will be up and running! I will be posting pic's of the progress!

Thursday Wedding

Kristin and Jared got married just before spring break, with more rain than I have seen all year! We got lucky though and had a few breaks in the rain to go outside! They were such troopers, and in the end it was totally worth it! Kristin was GORGEOUS...and rocked it out for me!
